But you, O Lord my Lord, act on my behalf for your name's sake; because your steadfast love is good, deliver me.


They beset me with words of hate, and attack me without cause.


Stretch out your hand from on high; set me free and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hand of aliens,


Do not let my treacherous enemies rejoice over me, or those who hate me without cause wink the eye.


My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?


Deep calls to deep at the thunder of your cataracts; all your waves and your billows have gone over me.


Do not let the flood sweep over me, or the deep swallow me up, or the Pit close its mouth over me.


For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you.


I called on your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit;


Those who worship vain idols forsake their true loyalty.


At three o'clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
