Keep my steps steady according to your promise, and never let iniquity have dominion over me.


My eyes are awake before each watch of the night, that I may meditate on your promise.


I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil.


I live as an alien in the land; do not hide your commandments from me.


I run the way of your commandments, for you enlarge my understanding.


It is good for me that I was humbled, so that I might learn your statutes.


I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts.


The one who lives alone is self-indulgent, showing contempt for all who have sound judgment.


When you walk, your step will not be hampered; and if you run, you will not stumble.


applied my mind to seek and to search out by wisdom all that is done under heaven; it is an unhappy business that God has given to human beings to be busy with.


“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free,


“You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that testify on my behalf.


So do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.


But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing.


So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty.


They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption; for people are slaves to whatever masters them.
