When she came to the man of God at the mountain, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi approached to push her away. But the man of God said, “Let her alone, for she is in bitter distress; the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me.”


For the arrows of the Almighty are in me; my spirit drinks their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.


My heart is stricken and withered like grass; I am too wasted to eat my bread.


For he did not remember to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and the brokenhearted to their death.


But I am a worm, and not human; scorned by others, and despised by the people.


Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.


As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.


Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
