“And you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with single mind and willing heart; for the Lord searches every mind, and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will abandon you forever.


Blessed be the Lord, the God of our ancestors, who put such a thing as this into the heart of the king to glorify the house of the Lord in Jerusalem,


O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man!” At the time, I was cupbearer to the king.


Then the king said to me, “What do you request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven.


Then my God put it into my mind to assemble the nobles and the officials and the people to be enrolled by genealogy. And I found the book of the genealogy of those who were the first to come back, and I found the following written in it:


I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.


The righteousness of the blameless keeps their ways straight, but the wicked fall by their own wickedness.


Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.


The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.


Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always continue in the fear of the Lord.


The way of the righteous is level; O Just One, you make smooth the path of the righteous.


And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”


I have aroused Cyrus in righteousness, and I will make all his paths straight; he shall build my city and set my exiles free, not for price or reward, says the Lord of hosts.


Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you for your own good, who leads you in the way you should go.


I know, O Lord, that the way of human beings is not in their control, that mortals as they walk cannot direct their steps.


Let the Lord your God show us where we should go and what we should do.”


Sometimes the cloud would remain a few days over the tabernacle, and according to the command of the Lord they would remain in camp; then according to the command of the Lord they would set out.


So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.


But thanks be to God who put in the heart of Titus the same eagerness for you that I myself have.


Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.


And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.


Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters,


If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you.


David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this band? Shall I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue; for you shall surely overtake and shall surely rescue.”
