He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength —who has resisted him, and succeeded?—


Praise the Lord! Happy are those who fear the Lord, who greatly delight in his commandments.


I keep the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.


Serve the Lord with fear, with trembling


Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,


The Egyptians pursued, and went into the sea after them, all of Pharaoh's horses, chariots, and chariot drivers.


But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts; so Pharaoh's heart remained hardened, and he would not listen to them; as the Lord had said.


Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take even this to heart.


Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always continue in the fear of the Lord.


One who is often reproved, yet remains stubborn, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.


Though sinners do evil a hundred times and prolong their lives, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they stand in fear before him,


All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look, to the humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at my word.


I will make an everlasting covenant with them, never to draw back from doing good to them; and I will put the fear of me in their hearts, so that they may not turn from me.


That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand only through faith. So do not become proud, but stand in awe.


Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?


But by your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath, when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.


Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest is still open, let us take care that none of you should seem to have failed to reach it.


If you invoke as Father the one who judges all people impartially according to their deeds, live in reverent fear during the time of your exile.
