The battle spread over the face of all the country; and the forest claimed more victims that day than the sword.


Then all the guests of Adonijah got up trembling and went their own ways.


When all Israel saw that the king would not listen to them, the people answered the king, “What share do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. To your tents, O Israel! Look now to your own house, O David.” So Israel went away to their tents.


Israel saw the great work that the Lord did against the Egyptians. So the people feared the Lord and believed in the Lord and in his servant Moses.


Evil people seek only rebellion, but a cruel messenger will be sent against them.


Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always continue in the fear of the Lord.


They answered, “The emperor's.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to the emperor the things that are the emperor's, and to God the things that are God's.”


Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,


He said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, the Lord's anointed, to raise my hand against him; for he is the Lord's anointed.”
