Now Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said to himself, “The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”


Then the man said, “You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans, and have prevailed.”


But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.


The fear of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands around Judah, and they did not make war against Jehoshaphat.


And the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.


They also delivered the king's commissions to the king's satraps and to the governors of the province Beyond the River; and they supported the people and the house of God.


This will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.


I will bring this people into such favor with the Egyptians that, when you go, you will not go empty-handed;


Better is a little with righteousness than large income with injustice.


Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.


The Lord said: Surely I have intervened in your life for good, surely I have imposed enemies on you in a time of trouble and in a time of distress.


“Take him, look after him well and do him no harm, but deal with him as he may ask you.”


I will grant you mercy, and he will have mercy on you and restore you to your native soil.


Now God allowed Daniel to receive favor and compassion from the palace master.


What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?


I have been paid in full and have more than enough; I am fully satisfied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.


so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.


Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is your acceptable duty in the Lord.


make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.


Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?


and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.
