When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow down or do obeisance to him, Haman was infuriated.


So Haman came in, and the king said to him, “What shall be done for the man whom the king wishes to honor?” Haman said to himself, “Whom would the king wish to honor more than me?”


So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the anger of the king abated.


When pride comes, then comes disgrace; but wisdom is with the humble.


One who loves transgression loves strife; one who builds a high threshold invites broken bones.


Before destruction one's heart is haughty, but humility goes before honor.


A person's pride will bring humiliation, but one who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.


The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
