You bestow on him blessings forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence.


For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.


There are many who say, “O that we might see some good! Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord!”


May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth.


A king's wrath is a messenger of death, and whoever is wise will appease it.


A king's anger is like the growling of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.


Many seek the favor of a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.
