“They harm the childless woman, and do no good to the widow.


But you do see! Indeed you note trouble and grief, that you may take it into your hands; the helpless commit themselves to you; you have been the helper of the orphan.


For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he perceives from far away.


The Lord watches over the strangers; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.


Why do you boast, O mighty one, of mischief done against the godly? All day long


But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah


The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous will stand.


The house of the wicked is destroyed, but the tent of the upright flourishes.


Evil plans are an abomination to the Lord, but gracious words are pure.


Do not remove an ancient landmark or encroach on the fields of orphans,


learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.


For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up and high;


they have grown fat and sleek. They know no limits in deeds of wickedness; they do not judge with justice the cause of the orphan, to make it prosper, and they do not defend the rights of the needy.


But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit was hardened so that he acted proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and his glory was stripped from him.


You must not move your neighbor's boundary marker, set up by former generations, on the property that will be allotted to you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.


Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.


In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you must clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
