Let the righteous strike me; let the faithful correct me. Never let the oil of the wicked anoint my head, for my prayer is continually against their wicked deeds.


Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but those who hate to be rebuked are stupid.


Those who despise the word bring destruction on themselves, but those who respect the commandment will be rewarded.


A desire realized is sweet to the soul, but to turn away from evil is an abomination to fools.


The righteous have enough to satisfy their appetite, but the belly of the wicked is empty.


A fool despises a parent's instruction, but the one who heeds admonition is prudent.


Many seek the favor of the generous, and everyone is a friend to a giver of gifts.


Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise rebuke to a listening ear.


Give instruction to the wise, and they will become wiser still; teach the righteous and they will gain in learning.


It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than to hear the song of fools.


Let us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us; for we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our ancestors, from our youth even to this day; and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”


See that you do not refuse the one who is speaking; for if they did not escape when they refused the one who warned them on earth, how much less will we escape if we reject the one who warns from heaven!
