So it was not you who sent me here, but God; he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt.


Now a scoundrel named Sheba son of Bichri, a Benjaminite, happened to be there. He sounded the trumpet and cried out, “We have no portion in David, no share in the son of Jesse! Everyone to your tents, O Israel!”


He will deliver even those who are guilty; they will escape because of the cleanness of your hands.”


When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.


Whoever belittles another lacks sense, but an intelligent person remains silent.


Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.


When a land rebels it has many rulers; but with an intelligent ruler there is lasting order.


Scoffers set a city aflame, but the wise turn away wrath.


Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man.


And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is placed among our members as a world of iniquity; it stains the whole body, sets on fire the cycle of nature, and is itself set on fire by hell.
