He said, “If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will help you.


And I said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “The work is great and widely spread out, and we are separated far from one another on the wall.


So we labored at the work, and half of them held the spears from break of dawn until the stars came out.


The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.”


He clogged their chariot wheels so that they turned with difficulty. The Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the Israelites, for the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.”


Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.


The Lord your God, who goes before you, is the one who will fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your very eyes,


for it is the Lord your God who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.”


Do not fear them, for it is the Lord your God who fights for you.”
