He looked, and there at his head was a cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. He ate and drank, and lay down again.


Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?


saying to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.’ ”


He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels waited on him.


Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength.


When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness!”


When the devil had finished every test, he departed from him until an opportune time.


I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me;


Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.


Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?


And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God's angels worship him.”
