yet if they come to their senses in the land to which they have been taken captive, and repent, and plead with you in the land of their captors, saying, ‘We have sinned, and have done wrong; we have acted wickedly’;


Do you have faith in it that it will return, and bring your grain to your threshing floor?


therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”


Say to them, As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from their ways and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel?


And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall this kingdom be left to another people. It shall crush all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever;


As you go, proclaim the good news, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’


Then he began to reproach the cities in which most of his deeds of power had been done, because they did not repent.


The people of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the proclamation of Jonah, and see, something greater than Jonah is here!


He answered, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.


He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field;


He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field;


He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”


“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and caught fish of every kind;


And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”


“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves.


“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.


“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.


“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. For you do not go in yourselves, and when others are going in, you stop them.


“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like this. Ten bridesmaids took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.


“For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them;


From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”


Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing every disease and every sickness among the people.


“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.


“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.


Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.


But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.


and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.”


John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.


So they went out and proclaimed that all should repent.


He will turn many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.


But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come to you.


No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.


No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish just as they did.”


Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”


Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.


He said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’


So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.


and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.


Then he looked up at his disciples and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.


and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.


When they heard this, they were silenced. And they praised God, saying, “Then God has given even to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.”


While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent,


Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.


as I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus.


but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout the countryside of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God and do deeds consistent with repentance.


Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out,


For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly grief produces death.


He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son,


correcting opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth,


Therefore let us go on toward perfection, leaving behind the basic teaching about Christ, and not laying again the foundation: repentance from dead works and faith toward God,


The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.


I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her fornication.


Remember then from what you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
