Your decrees are very sure; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.


these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.


Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your sight? You know, I too am watching, says the Lord.


They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea; for so it has been written by the prophet:


He was teaching and saying, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.”


Then he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling things there;


and he said, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer’; but you have made it a den of robbers.”


It was to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’
