Micaiah replied, “You will find out on that day when you go in to hide in an inner chamber.”


Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, the covenant of the priests and the Levites.


O Lord, your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people, and be ashamed. Let the fire for your adversaries consume them.


Therefore by this the guilt of Jacob will be expiated, and this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin: when he makes all the stones of the altars like chalkstones crushed to pieces, no sacred poles or incense altars will remain standing.


As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes true, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet.”


When this comes—and come it will!—then they shall know that a prophet has been among them.


So I will display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.


in admitting foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, to be in my sanctuary, profaning my temple when you offer to me my food, the fat and the blood. You have broken my covenant with all your abominations.


See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight—indeed, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts.


So bring with you also your brothers of the tribe of Levi, your ancestral tribe, in order that they may be joined to you, and serve you while you and your sons with you are in front of the tent of the covenant.


To the Levites I have given every tithe in Israel for a possession in return for the service that they perform, the service in the tent of meeting.


Therefore say, ‘I hereby grant him my covenant of peace.


Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


I hereby accept the Levites from among the Israelites as substitutes for all the firstborn that open the womb among the Israelites. The Levites shall be mine,


Accept the Levites as substitutes for all the firstborn among the Israelites, and the livestock of the Levites as substitutes for their livestock; and the Levites shall be mine. I am the Lord.


His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and will gather his wheat into the granary; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”


‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.’


He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit.
