You silence the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples.


Why was no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I called? Is my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? By my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert; their fish stink for lack of water, and die of thirst.


Do you not fear me? says the Lord; Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as a boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail, though they roar, they cannot pass over it.


He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and he dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither, and the bloom of Lebanon fades.


But when he noticed the strong wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”


And they went and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”


He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm.


But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down before them, he came out of him without having done him any harm.


Then he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and began to serve them.


Simon answered, “Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets.”


He said to them, “Where is your faith?” They were afraid and amazed, and said to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”
