From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.


When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret.


He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him;


Again he began to teach beside the sea. Such a very large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat on the sea and sat there, while the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land.


So he went with him. And a large crowd followed him and pressed in on him.


When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored the boat.


Meanwhile, when the crowd gathered by the thousands, so that they trampled on one another, he began to speak first to his disciples, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, that is, their hypocrisy.


he saw two boats there at the shore of the lake; the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets.


One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they put out,


and while they were sailing he fell asleep. A windstorm swept down on the lake, and the boat was filling with water, and they were in danger.


Then the demons came out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.


Then Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and press in on you.”


One of the two who heard John speak and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.


After this Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, also called the Sea of Tiberias.
