The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the property that will belong to me.’ So he divided his property between them.


He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them;


Now there was a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years; and though she had spent all she had on physicians, no one could cure her.


There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold.


For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has—not according to what one does not have.
