The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and his anointed, saying,


“I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.”


The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes his covenant known to them.


The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners;


Surely the Lord God does nothing, without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.


And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road.


“Master, now you are dismissing your servant in peace, according to your word;


But truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”


He first found his brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated Anointed).
