In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that is before the covenant, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening to morning before the Lord. It shall be a perpetual ordinance to be observed throughout their generations by the Israelites.


Once a year Aaron shall perform the rite of atonement on its horns. Throughout your generations he shall perform the atonement for it once a year with the blood of the atoning sin offering. It is most holy to the Lord.


When Moses saw that they had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded, he blessed them.


The Lord said to Moses: Tell your brother Aaron not to come just at any time into the sanctuary inside the curtain before the mercy seat that is upon the ark, or he will die; for I appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.


and you shall do no work during that entire day; for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the Lord your God.


You shall do no work: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your settlements.


Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel; and they took the blasphemer outside the camp, and stoned him to death. The people of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses.


It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, in all your settlements: you must not eat any fat or any blood.


On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation, and deny yourselves; you shall do no work.


For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.


But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sin year after year.


Nor was it to offer himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Holy Place year after year with blood that is not his own;


but only the high priest goes into the second, and he but once a year, and not without taking the blood that he offers for himself and for the sins committed unintentionally by the people.
