Plans are established by taking advice; wage war by following wise guidance.


for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.


It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not found even among pagans; for a man is living with his father's wife.


Your boasting is not a good thing. Do you not know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?


You must observe them diligently, for this will show your wisdom and discernment to the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and discerning people!”


If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you.


So the leaders partook of their provisions, and did not ask direction from the Lord.


Then he commanded the men whom he sent, saying, “Thus shall you say to all the Israelites, ‘Has such a thing ever happened since the day that the Israelites came up from the land of Egypt until this day? Consider it, take counsel, and speak out.’ ”


All the people got up as one, saying, “We will not any of us go to our tents, nor will any of us return to our houses.
