Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”


They sent to me four times in this way, and I answered them in the same manner.


You will be saved from the loose woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words,


My child, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.


“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.


If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.


You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.


For the love of God is this, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome,


So Samson's wife wept before him, saying, “You hate me; you do not really love me. You have asked a riddle of my people, but you have not explained it to me.” He said to her, “Look, I have not told my father or my mother. Why should I tell you?”


So while he slept, Delilah took the seven locks of his head and wove them into the web, and made them tight with the pin. Then she said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he awoke from his sleep, and pulled away the pin, the loom, and the web.


Finally, after she had nagged him with her words day after day, and pestered him, he was tired to death.
