The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the wadi.


Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, “A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; already they are at Hazazon-tamar” (that is, En-gedi).


When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take the booty from them, they found livestock in great numbers, goods, clothing, and precious things, which they took for themselves until they could carry no more. They spent three days taking the booty, because of its abundance.


Wisdom is too high for fools; in the gate they do not open their mouths.


He answered, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.


He replied, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to get in and sit beside him.


No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.


For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure,


He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.


But if you cannot explain it to me, then you shall give me thirty linen garments and thirty festal garments.” So they said to him, “Ask your riddle; let us hear it.”


On the fourth day they said to Samson's wife, “Coax your husband to explain the riddle to us, or we will burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us here to impoverish us?”
