And they struck with blindness the men who were at the door of the house, both small and great, so that they were unable to find the door.


One who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall be put to death; the whole congregation shall stone the blasphemer. Aliens as well as citizens, when they blaspheme the Name, shall be put to death.


But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.


Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.


Jesus therefore no longer walked about openly among the Jews, but went from there to a town called Ephraim in the region near the wilderness; and he remained there with the disciples.


The disciples said to him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just now trying to stone you, and are you going there again?”


While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.” After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.


Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and judge him according to your law.” The Jews replied, “We are not permitted to put anyone to death.”


Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had disappeared in the crowd that was there.


As he walked along, he saw a man blind from birth.


But they covered their ears, and with a loud shout all rushed together against him.


David was in great danger; for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in spirit for their sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
