The crowd answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Messiah remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”


Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will look for me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’


Nicodemus said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother's womb and be born?”


Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?”


Then the Jews began to complain about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”


The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”


When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?”


You will search for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.”


Again he said to them, “I am going away, and you will search for me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”


Those who are unspiritual do not receive the gifts of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to them, and they are unable to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
