Job 38:28

May God give you of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine.


Then his father Isaac answered him: “See, away from the fatness of the earth shall your home be, and away from the dew of heaven on high.


You mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain upon you, nor bounteous fields! For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, anointed with oil no more.


Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”


my roots spread out to the waters, with the dew all night on my branches;


For he draws up the drops of water; he distills his mist in rain,


which the skies pour down and drop upon mortals abundantly.


“Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb?—


He covers the heavens with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, makes grass grow on the hills.


by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew.


When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and he brings out the wind from his storehouses.


Can any idols of the nations bring rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Is it not you, O Lord our God? We set our hope on you, for it is you who do all this.


They do not say in their hearts, “Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.”


I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily, he shall strike root like the forests of Lebanon.


O children of Zion, be glad and rejoice in the Lord your God; for he has given the early rain for your vindication, he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the later rain, as before.


And I also withheld the rain from you when there were still three months to the harvest; I would send rain on one city, and send no rain on another city; one field would be rained upon, and the field on which it did not rain withered;


so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.


And of Joseph he said: Blessed by the Lord be his land, with the choice gifts of heaven above, and of the deep that lies beneath;


So Israel lives in safety, untroubled is Jacob's abode in a land of grain and wine, where the heavens drop down dew.
