Surely God is great, and we do not know him; the number of his years is unsearchable.


which the skies pour down and drop upon mortals abundantly.


Its crashing tells about him; he is jealous with anger against iniquity.


He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning.


For to the snow he says, ‘Fall on the earth’; and the shower of rain, his heavy shower of rain,


“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, so that a flood of waters may cover you?


He gives rain on the earth and sends waters on the fields;


He does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number.


He covers the heavens with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, makes grass grow on the hills.


fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling his command!


by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew.


I will make it a waste; it shall not be pruned or hoed, and it shall be overgrown with briers and thorns; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.


When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and he brings out the wind from his storehouses.


Can any idols of the nations bring rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Is it not you, O Lord our God? We set our hope on you, for it is you who do all this.


Ask rain from the Lord in the season of the spring rain, from the Lord who makes the storm clouds, who gives showers of rain to you, the vegetation in the field to everyone.
