Those who denounce friends for reward— the eyes of their children will fail.


I will not show partiality to any person or use flattery toward anyone.


“But now, hear my speech, O Job, and listen to all my words.


My words declare the uprightness of my heart, and what my lips know they speak sincerely.


‘Can mortals be righteous before God? Can human beings be pure before their Maker?


Whoever rebukes a person will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.


Whoever flatters a neighbor is spreading a net for the neighbor's feet.


Am I now seeking human approval, or God's approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ.


As you know and as God is our witness, we never came with words of flattery or with a pretext for greed;
