It was like this with me: by day the heat consumed me, and the cold by night, and my sleep fled from my eyes.


For you have exacted pledges from your family for no reason, and stripped the naked of their clothing.


They go about naked, without clothing; though hungry, they carry the sheaves;


They reap in a field not their own and they glean in the vineyard of the wicked.


They are wet with the rain of the mountains, and cling to the rock for want of shelter.


She is not afraid for her household when it snows, for all her household are clothed in crimson.


Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own kin?


Meanwhile the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was built up. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
