For what do they care for their household after them, when the number of their months is cut off?


that the wicked are spared in the day of calamity, and are rescued in the day of wrath?


They go to bed with wealth, but will do so no more; they open their eyes, and it is gone.


For the arrows of the Almighty are in me; my spirit drinks their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.


You have made your people suffer hard things; you have given us wine to drink that made us reel.


For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed; he will pour a draught from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs.


But I will rejoice forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.


Rouse yourself, rouse yourself! Stand up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his wrath, who have drunk to the dregs the bowl of staggering.


But all shall die for their own sins; the teeth of everyone who eats sour grapes shall be set on edge.


Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord's hand, making all the earth drunken; the nations drank of her wine, and so the nations went mad.
