God gives me up to the ungodly, and casts me into the hands of the wicked.


God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me;


when his lamp shone over my head, and by his light I walked through darkness;


I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest; but trouble comes.”


The roar of the lion, the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions are broken.


For the arrows of the Almighty are in me; my spirit drinks their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.


Am I the Sea, or the Dragon, that you set a guard over me?


If I sin, what do I do to you, you watcher of humanity? Why have you made me your target? Why have I become a burden to you?


For he crushes me with a tempest, and multiplies my wounds without cause;


yet you have broken us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with deep darkness.
