“A mortal, born of woman, few of days and full of trouble,


Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one can.


so that you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?


“Indeed I know that this is so; but how can a mortal be just before God?


The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.


They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse; there is no one who does good, no, not one.


Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.


Indeed, I was born guilty, a sinner when my mother conceived me.


Who can say, “I have made my heart clean; I am pure from my sin”?


Surely there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning.


See, this alone I found, that God made human beings straightforward, but they have devised many schemes.


What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.


For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it.


But the scripture has imprisoned all things under the power of sin, so that what was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
