The Lord is my portion; I promise to keep your words.


For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession.


I cry to you, O Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”


By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.


My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.


Remember your congregation, which you acquired long ago, which you redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage. Remember Mount Zion, where you came to dwell.


Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine,


He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, I pray, let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”


The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.

I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe; I the Lord do all these things.

Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name:


As I live, says the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts, one is coming like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea.


Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”


For lo, the one who forms the mountains, creates the wind, reveals his thoughts to mortals, makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!


The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.


the Lord's own portion was his people, Jacob his allotted share.
