Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, “What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought such great guilt on me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that ought not to be done.”


She answered him, “No, my brother, do not force me; for such a thing is not done in Israel; do not do anything so vile!


Its rulers give judgment for a bribe, its priests teach for a price, its prophets give oracles for money; yet they lean upon the Lord and say, “Surely the Lord is with us! No harm shall come upon us.”


Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.


for you are still of the flesh. For as long as there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving according to human inclinations?


Besides that, they learn to be idle, gadding about from house to house; and they are not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not say.


Do not be deceived, my beloved.

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse those who are made in the likeness of God.


Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing.
