O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in ruins.


They shall be called, “The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord”; and you shall be called, “Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.”


We have long been like those whom you do not rule, like those not called by your name.


Your holy cities have become a wilderness, Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.


Do not be exceedingly angry, O Lord, and do not remember iniquity forever. Now consider, we are all your people.


Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trampled down my portion, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.


Enemies have stretched out their hands over all her precious things; she has even seen the nations invade her sanctuary, those whom you forbade to enter your congregation.


How the gold has grown dim, how the pure gold is changed! The sacred stones lie scattered at the head of every street.


Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one that spoke, “For how long is this vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled?”


He shall grow strong in power, shall cause fearful destruction, and shall succeed in what he does. He shall destroy the powerful and the people of the holy ones.


I will lay your cities waste, will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your pleasing odors.


the high places of Isaac shall be made desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”


Then he asked them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly I tell you, not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down.”

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.


but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample over the holy city for forty-two months.
