And daughter Zion is left like a booth in a vineyard, like a shelter in a cucumber field, like a besieged city.


For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness; the calves graze there, there they lie down, and strip its branches.


For when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in his midst, they will sanctify my name; they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.


And her gates shall lament and mourn; ravaged, she shall sit upon the ground.


Therefore my people go into exile without knowledge; their nobles are dying of hunger, and their multitude is parched with thirst.


Shake yourself from the dust, rise up, O captive Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter Zion!


Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, with no one passing through, I will make you majestic forever, a joy from age to age.


Who are these that fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows?


You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate; but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married.


Your holy cities have become a wilderness, Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.


they will fall by the edge of the sword and be taken away as captives among all nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.


For if you have been cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree.


And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise.
