Sacrifice and offering you do not desire, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.


Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God.

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God; to draw near to listen is better than the sacrifice offered by fools; for they do not know how to keep from doing evil.


Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your sight? You know, I too am watching, says the Lord.


He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

They do all their deeds to be seen by others; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long.
