They made his grave with the wicked and his tomb with the rich, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.


How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender.


He will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick until he brings justice to victory.


Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.


“You are those who have stood by me in my trials;


where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, and when they were over, he was famished.


Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?


For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,


For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.


Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.


He is able to deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is subject to weakness;


For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.


so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”


You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.
