He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord.”


God was with the boy, and he grew up; he lived in the wilderness, and became an expert with the bow.


By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but when you break loose, you shall break his yoke from your neck.”


you shall say, ‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our ancestors’—in order that you may settle in the land of Goshen, because all shepherds are abhorrent to the Egyptians.”


These are the descendants of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God.


There was once a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.


The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil.”

Mark the blameless, and behold the upright, for there is posterity for the peaceable.
