And they struck with blindness the men who were at the door of the house, both small and great, so that they were unable to find the door.


For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”


So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, “Up, get out of this place; for the Lord is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.


When they had brought them outside, they said, “Flee for your life; do not look back or stop anywhere in the Plain; flee to the hills, or else you will be consumed.”


Hurry, escape there, for I can do nothing until you arrive there.” Therefore the city was called Zoar.


Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.


I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for all time, for their own good and the good of their children after them.


Come out of her, my people! Save your lives, each of you, from the fierce anger of the Lord!


He said to the congregation, “Turn away from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, or you will be swept away for all their sins.”


and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man greatly distressed by the licentiousness of the lawless


then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment
