These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth; children were born to them after the flood.


To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born.


May God make space for Japheth, and let him live in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave.”


In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria captured Samaria; he carried the Israelites away to Assyria. He placed them in Halah, on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.


Woe is me, that I am an alien in Meshech, that I must live among the tents of Kedar.

Gomer and all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remotest parts of the north with all its troops—many peoples are with you.


And you, mortal, prophesy against Gog, and say: Thus says the Lord God: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal!


and will come out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, in order to gather them for battle; they are as numerous as the sands of the sea.
