Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit.


Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding.


The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners;


They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on the shoulders of others; but they themselves are unwilling to lift a finger to move them.


But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.


Now therefore why are you putting God to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear?


For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.


and that you, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.


Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man, she is not an adulteress.


But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we are slaves not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.


For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, “Abba! Father!”


For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.


Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.


Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.


For whoever was called in the Lord as a slave is a freed person belonging to the Lord, just as whoever was free when called is a slave of Christ.


For you put up with it when someone makes slaves of you, or preys upon you, or takes advantage of you, or puts on airs, or gives you a slap in the face.


Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.


But because of false believers secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might enslave us—


But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian,


But the other woman corresponds to the Jerusalem above; she is free, and she is our mother.


So then, friends, we are children, not of the slave but of the free woman.


Now, however, that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental spirits? How can you want to be enslaved to them again?


For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.


Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness.


Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel,


For we now live, if you continue to stand firm in the Lord.


So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter.


Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.


For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.


Christ, however, was faithful over God's house as a son, and we are his house if we hold firm the confidence and the pride that belong to hope.


Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.


As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil.


They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption; for people are slaves to whatever masters them.


Beloved, while eagerly preparing to write to you about the salvation we share, I find it necessary to write and appeal to you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.


only hold fast to what you have until I come.


Remember then what you received and heard; obey it, and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.
