“If they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you are angry with them and give them to an enemy, so that they are carried away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near;


“See, I am of small account; what shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.


therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”


If one wished to contend with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand.


Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.


But who can detect their errors? Clear me from hidden faults.


Surely there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning.


All we like sheep have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.


And I said: “Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”


We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy cloth. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.


Look at the proud! Their spirit is not right in them, but the righteous live by their faith.


For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”


yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.


but my righteous one will live by faith. My soul takes no pleasure in anyone who shrinks back.”


Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.


For all of us make many mistakes. Anyone who makes no mistakes in speaking is perfect, able to keep the whole body in check with a bridle.


They sing a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slaughtered and by your blood you ransomed for God saints from every tribe and language and people and nation;
