“Because King Manasseh of Judah has committed these abominations, has done things more wicked than all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has caused Judah also to sin with his idols;


But they did not listen; Manasseh misled them to do more evil than the nations had done that the Lord destroyed before the people of Israel.


our kings, our officials, our priests, and our ancestors have not kept your law or heeded the commandments and the warnings that you gave them.


Even in their own kingdom, and in the great goodness you bestowed on them, and in the large and rich land that you set before them, they did not serve you and did not turn from their wicked works.


They exchanged the glory of God for the image of an ox that eats grass.


They did not keep God's covenant, but refused to walk according to his law.


The Lord said to Moses, “How long will you refuse to keep my commandments and instructions?


They have turned back to the iniquities of their ancestors of old, who refused to heed my words; they have gone after other gods to serve them; the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken the covenant that I made with their ancestors.


O Lord, do your eyes not look for truth? You have struck them, but they felt no anguish; you have consumed them, but they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to turn back.


Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They have held fast to deceit, they have refused to return.


Oppression upon oppression, deceit upon deceit! They refuse to know me, says the Lord.


Then you shall know that I am the Lord, whose statutes you have not followed, and whose ordinances you have not kept, but you have acted according to the ordinances of the nations that are around you.”


Samaria has not committed half your sins; you have committed more abominations than they, and have made your sisters appear righteous by all the abominations that you have committed.


“And now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made your name renowned even to this day—we have sinned, we have done wickedly.


we have sinned and done wrong, acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and ordinances.


Open shame, O Lord, falls on us, our kings, our officials, and our ancestors, because we have sinned against you.


But they refused to listen, and turned a stubborn shoulder, and stopped their ears in order not to hear.


It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not found even among pagans; for a man is living with his father's wife.


For certain intruders have stolen in among you, people who long ago were designated for this condemnation as ungodly, who pervert the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
