what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?


Like the bow in a cloud on a rainy day, such was the appearance of the splendor all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of someone speaking.


for they are a rebellious house. Therefore, mortal, prepare for yourself an exile's baggage, and go into exile by day in their sight; you shall go like an exile from your place to another place in their sight. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house.


Mortal, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are prophesying; say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: “Hear the word of the Lord!”


Mortal, when a land sins against me by acting faithlessly, and I stretch out my hand against it, and break its staff of bread and send famine upon it, and cut off from it human beings and animals,


Mortal, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and placed their iniquity as a stumbling block before them; shall I let myself be consulted by them?


O mortal, how does the wood of the vine surpass all other wood— the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest?


Mortal, make known to Jerusalem her abominations,


O mortal, propound a riddle, and speak an allegory to the house of Israel.


He said to me, Mortal, I am sending you to the people of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this very day.


And you, O mortal, do not be afraid of them, and do not be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns surround you and you live among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words, and do not be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.


But you, mortal, hear what I say to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.


Mortal, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Why are you coming? To consult me? As I live, says the Lord God, I will not be consulted by you.


He said to me, O mortal, eat what is offered to you; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.


He said to me: Mortal, all my words that I shall speak to you receive in your heart and hear with your ears;


Mortal, I have made you a sentinel for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.


He said to me: Mortal, go to the house of Israel and speak my very words to them.


He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.”


And you, O mortal, take a brick and set it before you. On it portray a city, Jerusalem;


The man said to me, “Mortal, look closely and listen attentively, and set your mind upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order that I might show it to you; declare all that you see to the house of Israel.”


Then he said to me: Mortal, thus says the Lord God: These are the ordinances for the altar: On the day when it is erected for offering burnt offerings upon it and for dashing blood against it,


And you, O mortal, take a sharp sword; use it as a barber's razor and run it over your head and your beard; then take balances for weighing, and divide the hair.


You, O mortal, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.


He said to me, “Daniel, greatly beloved, pay attention to the words that I am going to speak to you. Stand on your feet, for I have now been sent to you.” So while he was speaking this word to me, I stood up trembling.


He said, “Do not fear, greatly beloved, you are safe. Be strong and courageous!” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”


So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I became frightened and fell prostrate. But he said to me, “Understand, O mortal, that the vision is for the time of the end.”


But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Get up and do not be afraid.”


No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.


“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.


But get up and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you to serve and testify to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you.


But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”
