He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron whom he had chosen.


Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good spirit lead me on a level path.


Do not be like a horse or a mule, without understanding, whose temper must be curbed with bit and bridle, else it will not stay near you.


He said, “I will be with you; and this shall be the sign for you that it is I who sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God on this mountain.”


But he said, “O my Lord, please send someone else.”


You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.


He indeed shall speak for you to the people; he shall serve as a mouth for you, and you shall serve as God for him.


He made my mouth like a sharp sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me a polished arrow, in his quiver he hid me away.


The Lord God has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. Morning by morning he wakens— wakens my ear to listen as those who are taught.


Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth; and the Lord said to me, “Now I have put my words in your mouth.


And Moses said, “This is how you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works; it has not been of my own accord:


When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.


He was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.”


But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.


Pray also for me, so that when I speak, a message may be given to me to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,


I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their own people; I will put my words in the mouth of the prophet, who shall speak to them everything that I command.
