Exodus 34:29 - New Revised Standard Version

29 Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant in his hand, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.

When the Israelites saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.


When God finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.


Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain, carrying the two tablets of the covenant in his hands, tablets that were written on both sides, written on the front and on the back.


the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.


Who is like the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? Wisdom makes one's face shine, and the hardness of one's countenance is changed.


And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became dazzling white.


And once more he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they did not know what to say to him.


He did not know what to say, for they were terrified.


He said to them, “Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?”


And while he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became dazzling white.


Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had disappeared in the crowd that was there.


Peter went out and followed him; he did not realize that what was happening with the angel's help was real; he thought he was seeing a vision.


And Paul said, “I did not realize, brothers, that he was high priest; for it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a leader of your people.’ ”


And all who sat in the council looked intently at him, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.


not like Moses, who put a veil over his face to keep the people of Israel from gazing at the end of the glory that was being set aside.


So I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark that I had made; and there they are, as the Lord commanded me.


But the woman took the two men and hid them. Then she said, “True, the men came to me, but I did not know where they came from.
