After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the officials who were with him.


Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king, wearing royal robes of blue and white, with a great golden crown and a mantle of fine linen and purple, while the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced.

Truly, no ransom avails for one's life, there is no price one can give to God for it.


I will thank you forever, because of what you have done. In the presence of the faithful I will proclaim your name, for it is good.


For he says: “Are not my commanders all kings?


and the king said, “Is this not magnificent Babylon, which I have built as a royal capital by my mighty power and for my glorious majesty?”


And the disciples were perplexed at these words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!


As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
